At PouchCo, we believe that the most precious moments in life are often the simplest—holding your baby close, feeling their heartbeat against yours, and creating the bond that lasts a lifetime.

Our journey began after years of designing and supplying premium baby products to families across South Africa. Through this experience, we recognised an opportunity to create something truly exceptional: a luxury range of ergonomic baby carriers that would combine world-class safety, uncompromising comfort, timeless style, and the emotional connection that every parent deserves.

Inspired by nature’s most nurturing carrier—the kangaroo pouch—PouchCo was founded in Cape Town, South Africa, with a simple yet powerful vision: to design beautifully crafted baby carriers that allow parents to keep their little ones close while embracing the freedom of everyday life.

Every PouchCo carrier is thoughtfully designed to support healthy development, encourage parent-child bonding, and provide exceptional comfort for both baby and parent. From the very first sketch to the finished product, every detail is carefully considered to create a carrier that is as elegant as it is functional.

Safety has always been at the heart of everything we do. Our carriers have successfully passed the European CEN/TR 16512:2015 Safety Standard and are designed to support the ergonomic “M-position” recommended by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for healthy hip development.

PouchCo officially launched in January 2025, and in just 17 months has become one of South Africa’s leading premium baby carrier brands through online sales, growing to become the country’s second-largest premium baby carrier brand in its category. During this time, our product range has expanded by more than 80%, evolving from our original flagship carrier into a growing collection of premium baby carriers, toddler carriers, swim carriers and natural linen ring slings—each designed with the same commitment to quality, innovation and timeless design.
